Paolo Fontanili, R&D Blood Management Manager and Patent & Trademark Manager, has been with Eurosets for 19 years.

What impressed you about Eurosets and what would you tell someone who doesn't know the company?

Since 2014, Eurosets has transformed from a company whose main expertise was in the design, development, manufacturing, and production of disposable plastic medical devices intended for the operating room, to a company that offers healthcare professionals everything needed to treat and save a patient: from disposable items to life-saving electronic equipment that is tested, validated, and usable in intensive care units, ambulances, and air ambulances.

Since you have been with the company, what is the project you have worked on that best represents the spirit of the company?

The project that I hold closest to my heart is the Magnetic Levitation Centrifugal Pump. We had no company know-how in this area, but we progressively sought and identified partners, developing a product that is used both in ECMOLife and Colibrì and has a very promising future.

What does our motto 'Every Life Matters' represent for you?

It would be easy to say that every life is important.
From my perspective, this means that everything we do must ultimately aim to provide healthcare professionals with the best possible product, realizable, marketable, and usable, to treat and save every patient in the shortest time possible.
Business procedures, company profit, and personal satisfaction must be a means, not an end.

Cosa ti ha colpito di Eurosets e cosa racconteresti a qualcuno che non conosce l’azienda?

Dal 2014 ad oggi, Eurosets si è trasformata dall’essere una azienda il cui know-how principale era la progettazione, sviluppo, lavorazione e produzioni di dispositivi medici monouso in plastica, i cosiddetti disposable destinati alla sala operatoria, ad essere un’azienda che offre all’operatore sanitario tutto ciò che possa servire per curare e salvare un paziente: dal monouso sino all’apparecchiatura elettronica salvavita testata, validata e utilizzabile in terapia intensiva, su auto-ambulanza e su eli-ambulanza.

Da quando sei in azienda, qual è il progetto a cui hai lavorato che rappresenti al meglio lo spirito dell’azienda?

Il progetto che ho più nel cuore è la Pompa Centrifuga a Levitazione Magnetica. Non avevamo nessun know-how aziendale e progressivamente abbiamo cercato ed individuato i partner, sviluppando un prodotto che trova applicazione sia su ECMOLife, che su Colibrì ed ha un futuro molto promettente.

Che cosa rappresenta per te il motto “Every Life Matters”?

Sarebbe semplice dire che ogni vita è importante.
Dal mio punto di vista significa che ogni cosa che facciamo deve avere come fine ultimo quello di fornire agli operatori sanitari, nel più breve tempo possibile, il miglior prodotto realizzabile, vendibile ed utilizzabile per curare e salvare ogni paziente.
Le procedure aziendali, il profitto di impresa, le soddisfazioni personali, debbono essere un mezzo e non un fine.
